FIREARM PURCHASE POLICY 

Purchasers of firearms must complete a 4473 and pass a background check.


Per federal law an FFL dealer cannot sell, transfer or deliver a long gun or long gun ammunition to a person under the age of 18. Per ATF rules 18 - 20 year olds attempting to purchase a long gun are subject to an enhanced background check which may take two weeks to complete.


Per federal law an FFL dealer cannot sell, transfer or deliver a handgun or handgun ammunition to a person under the age of 21.


A Tennessee driver’s license, picture identification or Tennessee handgun carry permit is required to purchase a handgun.


Long guns can be sold to persons at least 18 years old possessing an out of state license who complete a 4473 and pass a background check.
